Accelerate Your Personal Revolution: Exploring the 8 Limbs of Yoga
Yoga Philosophy with Lenore
Has practicing power vinyasa flow (asana practice) already begun to generate integration and transformation in your life? Have you become curious about how accessing the other branches of the '8-limbed path' could accelerate the journey to personal revolution? Join us for an interactive class that goes 'beyond the poses' of asana practice to introduce the full system of yoga philosophy described by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras.
In this intimate evening of personal reflection, partner exercises, and group meditation, we will dive deeper into strategies for self-study off of the mat that can support asana practice; including the Yamas (restraints) and Niyamas (observances); Pranayama (restraint or expansion of the breath) and Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), in preparation for Dharana (concentration), and Dhyana (meditation), which pave the way to experiencing Samadhi (total integration with the divine).

No prior experience is required as we will be exploring foundational concepts together, including opportunities to experience withdrawing the senses, explore different types of pranayama, as well as create meaningful personal mantras to be used in concentration (dharana), as a precursor to meditation (dhyana). Feel free to bring a favorite journal and pen, a friend or family member who you'd delight in sharing practice with, or come alone, just as you are: already healed, whole, and ready to deepen your commitment to the practice.
About Lenore Maniaci
Lenore Maniaci, MPH, CYT got deeply curious about the infinite potential of yoga as a vehicle for personal transformation at a two hour Baptiste Power Yoga workshop in 2009, where she first began to meet herself on the mat with great consistency. She invites her students to shed their stories and access personal freedom along the 8-limbed path.
Lenore was grateful to find such a vibrant spiritual home in Cape Ann Power Yoga, having recently moving to Gloucester as a new wife, and first-time mother, whose Master's in Public Health degree from Columbia University led to a career in public service facilitating health systems improvements across the Commonwealth, most recently as a consultant trainer for Upstream, USA.
Having completed 200hr power vinyasa flow teacher trainings in 2011 and 2013 at Health Yoga Life, in Beacon Hill, where she taught 'Power 'N Flow,' 'Groove 'N Flow,' led 30-day challenges, and inspiring workshops after running the 2016 Boston Marathon, she is currently challenging herself to receive the Baptiste Power Yoga Instructor Credential this fall.
Her most memorable experiences include teaching yoga on a stand-up paddleboard for Island Spirit Kayak in her hometown of Martha's Vineyard; and developing a year-long 'Yoga, Meditation, and Mindfulness' course for the Urban College of Boston, where she was fortunate to share yoga practice and philosophy with students newly arrived from countries all over the world.
